Privacy Policy for Mental OS

Overview

Mental OS is committed to protecting your privacy. This app is designed with privacy as a core principle. We believe your mental wellness journey is personal and private.

Data Collection

We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.

Mental OS operates entirely on your device. All information you enter (thoughts, breathing sessions, progress, exercises, photos, voice recordings, etc.) is stored locally on your device only.

What Data Stays on Your Device

• Thought entries (text, voice recordings, photos)
• Breathing exercise history
• Grounding exercise completions
• Daily challenge progress
• Skill tree progression and XP
• Settings and preferences
• All other app usage data

Data Storage

• All data is stored locally on your device using SQLite database
• Data is never transmitted over the internet
• Data is never uploaded to any server
• Data is never shared with third parties
• We have no servers or cloud storage
• We cannot access your data

Data Deletion

You have complete control over your data. You can delete all your data at any time by:

• Going to Settings → Clear All Data within the app
• Deleting the app from your device

When you delete the app, all data is permanently removed from your device.

Third-Party Services

Mental OS does not use any third-party services, including:

• No analytics services
• No advertising networks
• No tracking services
• No crash reporting services
• No cloud storage services

Permissions

Mental OS may request the following permissions. All permissions are optional and only used when you explicitly choose a feature that requires them:

Camera Permission

Only requested if you choose to take a photo for thought capture. Photos are stored locally on your device and never uploaded.

Microphone Permission

Only requested if you choose to record a voice note for thought capture. Audio recordings are stored locally on your device and never uploaded.

Photo Library Permission

Only requested if you choose to attach an existing photo from your library. We only access photos you explicitly select.

Notifications Permission

Only requested if you enable reminders in settings. Notifications are generated locally on your device.

All permissions can be managed in your device's Settings app under Mental OS.

Children's Privacy

Mental OS is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has used the app, please contact us.

Security

Since all data stays on your device, the security of your data is protected by your device's security features:

• Device passcode/biometric lock
• iOS encryption (if enabled)
• Device backup encryption (if enabled)

We recommend enabling device security features to protect your personal information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Your Rights

Because all data stays on your device:

• You have complete control over your data
• You can export your data at any time (Settings → Export Data)
• You can delete your data at any time
• You can stop using the app at any time
• There is no account to close or data to request from us
